She is of French German, Irish, as well as Scottish roots. Jacobs' family was the owner of Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery, founded by the family in Erie Pennsylvania 1847. John Martin Magenau Jr. was in the office of CEO and President between 1978 and the time of its closing. Jacobs began studying acting when she was eight years young and attended Saturday lessons in acting at The Pittsburgh Playhouse.
